Once we begin to be and what that means

As we deepen our relationship with God, we begin to be who God created us to be. Last week’s blog reminds us how important it is to become that new creation in Christ. It makes me think of 2 Corinthians 4:6 where God tells us that he “made his light shine in our hearts…” It’s exciting to think that God gave us this light and that light not only dwelt among us (Jesus the Emmanuel) but also dwells within us. Exciting stuff if you ask me! This […]

Begin to be and what that means…

Here we are midway through the first month of the new year and I am still very excited about my goals. I long to have a deeper relationship with God, to be all that God created me to be. My blog from a couple weeks ago reminds me that all I need to do is focus on what I want to be. I want to be with God! Mysteriously, God makes me a better person. There is a quote by Marianne Williamson that says, “I am […]

Be joyful in hope, but how?

As I wrote my New Year’s blog last week, I hoped that it would be an encouragement to you. I was excited to hear from many of you listing the tips that resonated the most within your own lives. As we round the corner of the second week of January, hope and anticipation are hanging in the air. I have this ‘hope’ for a better year, for a better me. It got me thinking about hope. Ironically, my morning scripture reading came from Romans 12:12, which […]

One goal that could change your life forever!

With a brand new year comes a renewed sense of excitement with every message promising goals that will change your life forever! Kind, more organized,  prayerful or more loving? What do you think about? Do the two line up? Focusing on your goals by writing them down, measuring […]

The Christmas letdown. Now what?

Have you ever experienced the Christmas letdown? I sure have. The gifts have been brought, wrapped and given. The food has been prepared and eaten. The guests have come and gone. All that is left is the clean up. I remember feeling this letdown moments after our wedding. Don’t laugh, I’m serious. Months on end, we prepared for the big day. When it finally arrived, we moved through it like robots. The “I do’s” were said, pictures taken and hugs given. As we drove away, the […]

I lost my Christmas JOY. Let me show you where I found it.

Every year I make a vow that this Christmas will be different. As I intentionally slow down to embrace the true meaning, I scale back on gift giving and activities. Trying not to overload myself or my calendar, I reflect on the things that bring me joy, scrapping those things that do not. And every year, about this time, I completely lose it! Do you know what I mean? Overwhelmed with last minute gifts to buy, goodies to make and parties to attend, the joy […]
