This page was created based on my life verse from Ephesians 5:1-2 and it’s where my hashtag comes from, #livelove.
“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Check out my blog post titled, What is your life verse? For me, “to live a life of love” means experiencing, creating, and sharing love in all aspects of my life. My prayer is that the ideas below would inspire you to action. Words of love means nothing without actions of love to coincide.
There are a million ways we can love on each other. If God is love and I am love, should I not be able to live a life of love, in all the things that I do and say and act? Sometimes we just need little reminders from each other that we are love and we are loved. We can make a difference every single day in simple little ways.
I’d love your comments below of ideas that you have, little ways that you show love to others. And maybe I’ll post them here. So check back and see brand new ways we can love on each other.
- Smile at someone as you pass by
- Hold the door open for someone and let them go ahead of you
- Let someone over in traffic
- Volunteer to serve a meal at a soup kitchen
- Get involved in the local school’s backpack program
- Send someone a card, text, email of encouragement or just let them know you are thinking of them
- Donate non perishable items to the 2nd Harvest Food Bank or other food banks or shelters
- Ask your local mission what they are in need of. Then go get it or do your own drive and collect for them
- The next time you are in the drive thru, pay for your meal and the person behind you
- Help a family in need in your neighborhood
- Pick up trash on your street
- Pick up trash on someone else’s street
- Organize a group to do an Adopt a highway trash cleanup program
- Volunteer to work on a Habitat House
- Volunteer to work with World Relief
- Donate blood or volunteer with the Red Cross
- Leave a sticky note that says, “God loves you” in a public place, ie – library, public restroom
- Become a foster parent
- Help a turtle cross the road.
- Put out birdseed.
- Pay for the food of the person behind you in the drive-thru.
- Donate pet food at the animal shelter or Humane Society
- Call and find out what they need (ie – supplies or volunteer needs) at the local animal shelter.
- Leave a bag of candy on your co-workers desk with a note that says, “God loves you.”
- Leave an extravagant tip with your waitress.
- Tell the manager of a store how great an employee was at helping you.
- Pay for the coffee of the person behind you at Starbucks or your favorite local coffee house.
