God’s Amazing Response to last week’s blog on Worry

God is so amazing!  Last week, I had much encouragement after I published my blog, “Still worrying and what to do about it“.  If you missed it, click the link.  The response was incredible.  I began getting comments that same day.  And the next day, I received this text picture from a friend of mine.  See calendar entry below.

Her text message read, “Coincidental?  I think not.  XOXO”  I took it as confirmation from God and realized that my worry had indeed diminished.  Outloud, I thanked God that God was carrying my worry, for I didn’t feel worried at all.   I committed to trusting God with my whole heart.

The next day, I received another text picture from my same friend.  See below.  This is from Lysa TerKeurst’s The Best Yes daily calendar that happens to sit on my friend’s desk in her office.  On this day, my friend’s text read, “God is wanting to tell you something… XOXO.”

After reading the calendar entry, I believe God is trying to tell me something as well.  It is the same message God’s been telling me all along, “Trust me.”  And I ask myself, “am I trusting God or am I trusting myself?”

Right then I had this realization, it is only when I stop looking at myself and stop looking at my finances that I can see the amazing things that God has in store for me.  When I focus on myself,  I cannot see it, therefore I will worry about it.  I am not trusting God.  To overcome the worry I must stop looking at myself and what I can do.  And move my focus to God and what God can do.  Because if I’m trusting myself, it’s doesn’t matter what I do, it is always going to end in worry.  But if I trust God, there is no need to worry.  I must start believing in the God that is living in me and working through me.  For with God, all things are possible!  God is so amazing.

I believe God placed these messages on that calendar for me.  But just as God is reassuring me to trust God in all areas of my life, I believe God is trying to reassure you too.  Look for the messages that God is sending you through email, cards, text messages, a song on the radio that speaks to your heart.  And to quote my friend, “Coincidental?  I think not.”  God is speaking to us every moment of every day.  Maybe God is trying to show us how amazing God is and how much God loves us.  Let me know the many ways you have experienced God’s reassurance in your life in the coming days.  I want to celebrate with you how amazing God is!

Amazing God, our Alpha and our Omega, our beginning and our end, thank you for loving us, for reassuring us and for taking our worry away.  You are a great and mighty God.  Continue to reveal YOURSELF to us, in us and through us.  Let us be the people you have created us to be.  In Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen!  -M
